2. Entrepreneurship Organization-Global Student Entrepreneurship Award (EO-GSEA) Pakistan Semi Finals & Final

With a vision to bring together aspiring student entrepreneurs from around the globe to launch their ideas, talent and technology into leading companies, GSEA finals of the Pakistan chapter were held in Lahore on the 28th January, 2017. The Global Student Entrepreneurship Awards is a competition that never fails to foster a vibrant exchange of ideas, unparalleled innovation, and the start of new professional and personal connections amongst the budding entrepreneurs from different social and cultural backdrops. GSEA was founded in 1998 with a mission to provide student entrepreneurs the chance to boost their success and challenge the status quo. With an ever increasing number of partnering schools, access to successful entrepreneurs, feedback, mentorship and global finals competition awards of up to US$400,000 in valuable business products, plus a $20,000 cash prize GSEA since its inception, has grown to become one of the most coveted and prestigious student entrepreneurship competition in the world.  
The remarkable student entrepreneurs of NUST emerged victorious at the GSEA Pakistan chapter on both the Semi-final and Finals stages held in Islamabad and Lahore respectively. Eight out of the ten qualified teams in the semi-finals held in Islamabad on the 21st of January, 2017 were from NUST and out of these 8, four successfully made it to the finals of the GSEA Pakistan. Keeping up with the spirit of zeal and dedication, team Neurostic, led by Muhammad Asad Raza from NUST College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (CEME), won the GSEA, 2017.  Maria Aftab from NUST School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS) won the Social Impact Award for 'Sionser’; a portable efficient device to check the purity of drinking water. Another honor for NUST was the invitation to Ms. Rabia Shoaib Ahmed – Director CAC from the GSEA Pakistan Organizers to act as a judge in the Final of GSEA Pakistan.  
 The honorable Mrs. Naz Mansha presented the awards to the winning teams at the finals event held in Lahore. With Asad Raza representing both NUST and Pakistan, the annual GSEA finals will be the event to look forward to where multiple talented entrepreneurs from around the world will be representing their institutes and countries at the global platform of Frankfurt, Germany on the 28th and 29th of April, 2017.
