2nd International FICS 2025 Azerbaijan Pitching Event

Held on May 27, 2025 at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Baku, the 2nd International Chapter of FICS 2025 showcased youth-led innovation and cross-border collaboration. NUST in partnership with AzTU Azerbaijan organized this event that featured 62+ student teams from 21+ universities across Azerbaijan and 2 teams from Kazakhstan, pitching their startup ideas to a panel of leading academics and industry experts. The event began with the national anthems of Pakistan and Azerbaijan, highlighting the strong cultural and academic ties between the two countries. Distinguished guests included rectors from AzTU, BHOS, and Karabakh University University, as well as Dr Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector (RIC), NUST, who emphasized the role of FICS in driving youth innovation across borders.

1. 1st Prize: CleanX – Baku Higher Oil School
2. 2nd Prize: InSight Glasses – Baku Higher Oil School
3. 1st Runner-Up: Irrigo – Baku State University
4. 2nd Runner-Up: Agrowise – Baku Higher Oil School
5. 3rd Runner-Up: CO2toD Projects – AzTU

Special Awards:

1. Innovation Award: Guide Wear – Baku Engineering University
2. Innovation Award: RoboSpider Rescuer – Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Kazakhstan)
3. Emerging Institution – Impact Award: Harvest Together – Karabakh University, Khankendi

All winning teams will advance to the FICS 2025 Grand Finale at NUST Islamabad this August, joining a global network of innovators tackling real-world problems.
