NUST School of Chemical and Materials Engineering (SCME), organised a one-day workshop on “Electrochemical Methods for Energy Applications (EMEA-2019)” at SCME, NUST H-12 campus, on December 11, 2019.  The workshop aimed to provide theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience of key methods of electrode preparation and electrochemical workstation setup. Dr Muhammad Taqi Mehran, Assistant Professor SCME, NUST, was the keynote speaker and  trainer for the two sessions.
The workshop comprised 2 sessions on: “Theoretical Basis of Electrochemical Methods for Energy Systems” & “Hands-on Experience for Electrode Preparation, Electrochemical Workstation Setup & Electrochemical Measurements including CV, LSV, EIS etc.”
It was an introductory level workshop on Electrochemical Methods for Energy Applications. This workshop also included lab demonstrations in Corrosion Lab, Surface Engineering Lab & Chemistry Lab. Prof Dr Taqi Mehran has been actively involved in research work in the field of Fuel Cell Technologies and hence has expertise with regards to Electrochemical Methods for Energy Applications. The event was attended by students, faculty, and researchers working in advanced energy. The trainees received hands-on experience with the apparatus and equipments. They also received one-on-one guidance by Dr Taqi, who also answered most of their queries with regards to Electrochemical Methods.
