CAMPUS VISITS

In the 2nd phase of the placements program, an option of campus visits is initiated to invite industry partners for a visit to NUST ranging from a period of 2-3 days. This way the industry is able to witness available research and development resources for mutual collaborative research and development initiatives. Such an interaction leads to foster applied R&D culture and enhance academia industry linkages at national level. Highlights of some of the most recent visits can be observed hereafter.
a. A delegation of SUPARCO visited I&C Directorate on 12th September, 2019: The team showed keen interest for collaborating in areas of mutual interest including but not limited to training of staff, commercialization of innovations and joint R&D projects. They also visited MDDC and were briefed on the Heart Stents project.
b. A delegation of Bestway Cement visited I&C Directorate on 25th September 2019: Keen interest was shown by the team to be part of the NSTP along with collaborating in the fields of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering. The team also visited different labs of SCEE and decided to use these facilities for performing different test. 
c. NUST team led by Dr. Shahid Ikram Ullah Principal School of Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering (SMME) visited Forward Sports, Sialkot on 25th July 2019 along with the visit to Sialkot Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Khawaja Masood President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry and CEO of Forward Sports shared his thoughts on advancing collaboration with NUST. He also emphasized on the lean manufacturing practices which should be implemented in all manufacturing industries and academia role in this regard is very important. On 12th September 2019, Mr. Khawaja Masood visited NUST to have discussion on these matters and to chalk out way forward for early implementation of lean manufacturing curriculum for NUST students.
d. Mr. Amer Noaman, President Gujrat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GtCCI) visited NUST, on 20th September 2019.

e. Dr. Nassar Ikram, Pro-Rector Research, Innovation & Commercialization (RIC), hosted the esteemed delegation and discussed possible avenues for collaboration. The delegation also visited NUST Medical Devices Development Centre (MDDC), School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering (SMME) and School of Art, Design & Architecture (SADA), to see the NUST’s state-of-the-art facilities related to engineering, industrial design and cardiac research.

Campus visits are scheduled throughout the year, depending upon the schedule and availability of industry and schools interested in. Campus visits are moderated and requested via I & C Directorate of NUST. The request is placed with the officials of CAC and then the visit is commenced.
